Connection Errors
What Failed and Action needed mean, and how to clear them.
Failed
The credential no longer works. Access was revoked, a password changed, or the grant expired. Reconnect the provider from Setup — the same consent screen, and nothing already imported is lost.
Action needed
The connection exists but its syncs are failing, or the provider is reporting a problem. The error is shown exactly as the provider reported it, because that wording is usually the only thing that identifies which permission is missing.
Why Ghost shows this prominently
A connection that dies quietly is the worst failure a reporting product can have: the pages still render, the numbers just stop growing, and nobody notices for weeks. Ghost checks connection health on every page and says so in the status bar.
After reconnecting
Most sources catch up on what they missed while the connection was down, within whatever window the provider allows. A forward-only source cannot — the gap stays, and the page says so.
