# Why Older Calls May Not Appear

The three reasons a call you remember is not in Ghost.

Section: Data Availability. Web version: https://ghost.supermanservices.ca/help/why-older-calls-may-not-appear

## 1. The call happened before the connection
If your calls reach Ghost by webhook, there was nothing to receive them at the time. Those calls exist in your phone system and not in Ghost. This is the most common reason, and the connection's data window will confirm it.

## 2. The import has not reached that far back yet
A historical import works backwards in batches. While it runs, the connection reads **Importing** and older calls keep appearing. It is finished when the status changes.

## 3. The source retains less than you expect
Call tracking plans differ in how long they keep calls and recordings. Ghost cannot import what the tool no longer holds.

## What this is not
It is not Ghost deleting or hiding calls. Nothing in Ghost removes a call once it has arrived, and a call with no identifiable source is still shown as a call — see [Why is this call unattributed?](https://ghost.supermanservices.ca/help/unattributed-calls).
