# Total Leads

How leads are counted, and what is left out.

Total leads is the number of people who enquired in the selected period — not the number of calls, forms and messages received.

## Counted once per person
Several contacts from the same person about the same job are one lead. A genuinely new enquiry later is a new lead. See [What Counts as a Lead](https://ghost.supermanservices.ca/help/what-counts-as-a-lead).

## Excluded
Outbound contact your business initiated, and contacts Ghost can identify as not being enquiries at all — suppliers, recruiters, spam, wrong numbers.

## Why it may be lower than your phone system's call count
Because it is a count of people, not calls, and because it excludes calls that were never enquiries. Both numbers are available in Ghost; the Calls page counts calls.
