How a phone call becomes a booked job and an invoice.

Section: Attribution Explained. Web version: https://ghost.supermanservices.ca/help/call-to-booking-matching

A call and a booking are records in two different systems with no shared identifier. Ghost links them from what they have in common.

## How the link is made
The person. A call from a number, and a CRM record for the same person, within a plausible window, become one chain: enquiry → booking → invoice.

Where a tracking tool and a phone system both saw the same call, those two records are merged first — same caller, same direction, moments apart — so one real call is never counted twice.

## When a link cannot be made
- The CRM record has no phone number or email in common with any enquiry.
- The booking came from a walk-in, a referral taken in person, or a channel Ghost does not read.
- The enquiry predates the CRM connection.

An unlinked booking is still revenue and still appears in revenue totals. What it cannot do is credit a marketing source.

## Why this is shown, not hidden
Attribution Health reports unlinked records as Ghost's own problem to explain, not as your data being wrong. If a chain is broken for a reason Ghost can name, it names it.
